Original Posting: Sometime in 2001 Note: Since many of the comparisons previously listed here are for bikes that have been superseded by newer models I have taken down the content and not bothered to fix the prior lists. Introduction The Hayabusa has been publicly available for about many years now and I've been following the media comparisons and keeping track on the verbal or otherwise comparisons with other bikes. So I've decided to write up a page on them. Not all the comparisons are against the same class of bikes hence its definitely interesting reading. Probably owners of the other bikes will have read them too, so I don't think this will upset too many people. Seriously, all new bikes these days are great machines. They offer unbelievable performance and reliability and so forth. Many are appealing just for their 'image' and some out of customer loyalty. There's nothing wrong with any of that...so just enjoy the damn comparisons. Yes, it is not justified to compare a scooter for example with the Hayabusa, but many of us commute in crowded cities on both of them so in a way it is possible to compare them. I know this is a touchy subject but there are heaps of people who'd like to know what the differences are - including me. I cannot guarantee the accuracy of the information presented here. Most of the content is a summary of what I can remember from various articles from printed magazines, newspapers, emails e.g MCN, AMCN, BIKE and host of others which I can't remember the names of. Some are from test rides and friends comments. Remember too that I bought the Hayabusa before there where any reviews available, so you visitors have a chance choose before you decide. Apart from the specifications which are from the brochures etc... It is not the intention to 'bag' any particular bike remember everything is relative especially when it comes to motorcycles. |
