Last Updated : 02 July 2012 This survey results reveals the answers to the question: Are you licensed to drive (or can drive) a car that has a manual gearbox or 'stick shift'? Thank you - everyone who filled one in.
Analysis: From the initial rush of results it seems to be a question that people are interested in! Based on the small sample the majority clearly can also drive a manual car as well. Results updated on Sunday. Survey Start: 29 march 2010 Original Preamble This survey asks a simple question! After watching a number of American reality shows it became clear that many both male and female participants cannot or never driven a car that is not an 'Automatic'. Are they chosen because of this deficiency? Unless of course it is in the movies like Fast and Furious where every car is a manual - for obvious reasons! SO I decided this would be an interesting question pose to visitors! Most motorcycles have manual gearboxes so that's a given but cars are a different matter. Most countries have 'Auto' only licenses not paddle shift etc.. cars with 3 paddles, that is a clutch - so I wondered whether you can drive a manual or 'stick shift' car.
